Allen Short was born in Hanford, California. His parents were Vern and Norma Short. He grew up in Lemoore, attended local schools, and went on to graduate from Lemoore High School. Allen was an outstanding athlete, participating in several sports, including swimming, shot put, and excelling in football. He received numerous medals.
He continued his education at UC Berkeley, receiving a degree in Dentistry. Allen served in the military and was stationed in Korea. Afterward he opened his dental practice in Lemoore, serving his community for over 50 years before retiring.
During his free time, Allen spent many hours volunteering for the fire department. He was also regularly active in the Rotary International Organization. Allen also loved spending time at the duck pond.

A graveside service will be held on October 12th at 10:00 A.M. at Lemoore Cemetery. Any donations can be made to Ducks Unlimited.
