Charles Douglas Standridge of Lemoore CA, passed peacefully to eternity on September 9, 2022. Doug was the last of 5 children born to David and Betty Standridge on December 9, 1964 in Hanford, CA. He was raised in Stratford, California and moved to Lemoore after high school. Doug attended Stratford Elementary School and Lemoore High School. Doug graduated from Lemoore High School with the class of 1983. After high school Doug worked in the field of agriculture until he became disabled. For thirteen years Doug did dialysis. He fought to stay alive because he had so much more life to live. In January 2019 Doug received his second chance in life when he received a kidney transplant. Doug was grateful for such a gift because it allowed him to spend more time with his family.
In 1993 Doug was blessed with the biggest blessing of his life, his daughter Lindsey. Lindsey filled his life with joy and became his reason for living. Lindsey’s family was his motivation to push through his difficult days as he waited for a kidney transplant. He wanted to do all he could to live to see his daughter get married and have children. Through God’s grace, he did just that. Doug gained a son in law, Nick Rodriguez who he loved with his whole heart. He knew that Nick loved his daughter just as much as he did and would do everything to provide for her and keep her safe. Nick and Lindsey blessed Doug with four grandchildren who were the apples of his eyes, Daniel, Jacob, Ava, and Noah. Doug would often tease others about having the cutest and smartest grandchildren. He would spoil them rotten every chance he got. Doug could often be heard saying he would give his last breath for them.
Doug loved all things sports, he was a sport junky who spent hours cheering on his favorite sports teams. Depending on the season he could be heard cheering on the Los Angeles Dodgers, Golden State Warriors, San Jose Sharks, and the Miami Dolphins. He also was passionate about the sport of wrestling. It was one of his last wishes for his grandsons to continue in the sport.
Doug was like a walking history book. He knew different dates and stats and rattled them off regularly. He took great pleasure doting on his family. He never hesitated to tell them how proud he was of them and how much he loved them.
Doug was proceeded in death by his father, David Standridge, his brothers Don Standridge and Wayne Standridge, his nephew Christopher Souza, and his brother in law Philip Curtis. Survivors include his daughter Lindsey Rodriguez, Son in Law Nick, Grandchildren Daniel, Jacob, Ava, and Noah of Hanford, CA; Bonus daughter Ashley Steven’s and her children Joshua and Christopher of Centralia, WA; his mother, Betty Standridge of Lemoore, CA; sisters Debbie Souza (Mike) of Lemoore, CA and Sandy Curtis of Hanford, CA.
In addition, he is survived by eight nieces and nephews Meridith Shepherd (Day), Valerie Botelho (Marcio), Craig Standridge (Emily), Kathleen Curtis, Philip Curtis (Alex), David Standridge, Sarah Standridge, and Briana Curtis (Kevin); and 16 great nieces and nephews.
