Charles William Wolfe, best known as Bill, Uncle Bill, or Grandpa Wolfe, entered eternal rest on August 5, 2021 in Lemoore, California at the age of 83.
Bill was born on March 23, 1938 in Charleroi Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of three. At the tender age of seventeen, Bill joined the United States Navy. In 1956, Bill met Barbara Anne Gallegos in San Francisco, California. They married December 21, 1956 and enjoyed 53 years together, separated by Barbara's passing in January 2010. A man of principle and high standards, he treated everyone with kindness and respect. His good looks and jovial personality were magnetic; many enjoyed his company. He was a very hardworking man, serving twenty years in the United States Navy followed by twenty-three more years of Civil Service. In his younger days he loved to fish with his family. He enjoyed hunting with his son Tim.
In his senior years he and his wife Barbara enjoyed spending their mornings with fellow Mall Walkers at the Hanford Mall. After his wife's passing he took up volunteer work at the Lemoore Senior Center where he had many friends. He loved his time there so much that he served as Vice President for several years.
He is loved by many friends and family members, neighbors, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. His humor, dedication, and willingness to serve others were qualities that many knew. His legacy will continue on through his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his son Tim Wolfe and daughter-in-law Phyllis Wolfe of Laton, California; daughter Kathy Huape of Lemoore, California; daughter Carla Sampson and son-in-law Tim Sampson of Preston, Idaho; and daughter Allysa Wolfe and son-in-law Stefan Ancheta of Escondido, California.
