Obituary for Edgar Smith
Edgar Paul Smith of Fresno, California, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020, at the age of 84. Edgar was born in Cave City, Kentucky to Paul and Lucille Smith. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged at Moffett Field, California. He married Mary Fairfield and they raised a family together in the San Francisco Bay Area. Edgar was a commercial construction superintendent and after retiring, served as a Christian minister.
Edgar is survived by his four children: Rick P. Smith of Fresno, David C. Smith of Oregon, Hope J. Toews of Clovis, California and Jerry E. Smith of Clovis; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and, brother and sister in law, Wayne and Joyce Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary, in 2018.
A private graveside service is being held. A public Memorial Service will be held at a yet to be announced future date.
