Erma Anona Schweizer September 11, 1935 - February 5, 2023 Erma Anona “Noni” Schweizer, of Lemoore, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the age of 87. Born on September 11, 1935 in Portland, Oregon to William and Erma McKinney, Noni graduated from high school in Oregon City, Oregon in 1953. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Schweizer, on November 21, 1952, and dedicated herself to her family as a “single mom” for eight lengthy overseas tours during her husbands 26 years of Naval service. Noni was always involved in the boys' Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, taking on roles such as Team Mother and scorekeeper, as well as working the snack bar. You could be sure that if there were any events involving her sons, grandchildren, or great grandchildren, she would be in attendance providing support. A devout Catholic, Noni was a member of St. Peters parish where she sang in the choir and taught catechism for many years. She also volunteered at Mary Immaculate Queen school and was fondly known as “The Popcorn Lady.” Noni traveled extensively throughout the United States, as well as Japan, and Hong Kong. She was an avid reader of romance novels and enjoyed collecting and selling antiques with her husband at various antique shows in and out of California for several years, often bringing their dachshund Daisy along. Noni will be remembered as a strong woman and loving mother and grandmother who put God and family first. She will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have been a part of her life. Noni leaves behind her beloved husband of 70 years, Robert, their eight sons: Robert (Pamela), Jeffrey (Sherrie), Douglas (Terri), Timothy, Steven (Cheryl), David (Lynn), James (Lisa), and Michael (Sherry), her brother and sister-inlaw, Michael and Sabine Cramer of Montana, 16 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Church in Lemoore on Friday, February 17th. Recitation of the rosary will be at 10:00 a.m., followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow the mass at the Lemoore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations in Noni's name to Mary Immaculate School 884 N.
