Obituary for Harold Lutz

Harold Bell Lutz passed away peacefully on October 4, 2021, after battling a medical illness for several years. He is survived by his son Jeff Lutz, his son Bob Lutz and wife Joanie Lutz, and his daughter Sue Lutz and wife Elaine Adams Lutz. He is also survived by his grandchildren Harrison Lutz and Meilani Lutz (Jeff’s kids), grandchildren Cassidy Lutz and Ryan Lutz (Bob and Joanie’s kids), nephew Tom Rock and wife Christine, and nephew Terry Rock.

Harold was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on November 15, 1937. He joined the Navy in 1955 and became a hospital corpsman (medic), went on several tours of duty across the Pacific, and was a Vietnam war veteran. He met his wife Hsu Lutz while stationed at Taiwan, and they were married for over 53 years until Hsu passed away in 2015. Harold retired from the Navy in 1976, after spending 21 years in the Navy. He then later attended school to earn his LVN certification, and continued working at the Lemoore Naval Air Station until 2005 when he fully retired.

Harold was an avid sports fan, and loved to watch the Oakland Raiders play football. He also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs, and grew up as a kid collecting baseball autographs at spring training events in St. Petersburg. He was also a music fan, having written an original song himself, and liked listening to Elvis and several other country music singers. He also enjoyed fishing and playing golf in his earlier years.

Most recently Harold loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing card games and just being with the family. He had a quick wit, and great sense of humor. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.
