Obituary for Marian Wray

Marian Elaine (Cordova) Wray, 68, of Lemoore, CA, passed away Saturday, Apr 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving husband and children. She was born Aug 4, 1952, in Springer, NM, to Wilfred and Mary Rose Cordova.

Marian and Glenn Wray met in junior high in Glendale, CA. They quickly fell in love and married Oct 24, 1970, just five months after their high school graduation. A few years later, Marian continued living her dream, becoming mother to Kimberly Marie and then Joshua Christophor.

After many years of pouring her heart into married life and motherhood, she expanded her talents and jumped back into her schooling. Her work ethic and abilities earned her a rewarding 30-year career as a civil service employee with Lemoore Naval Air Station. She retired in 2017 after an achievement-filled time spent with cherished coworkers who had become true friends.

Retirement brought unlimited time with Glenn and their fur-babies Danny, Dude, and Chica, along with dreams of travel, Bingo and Bunco fun, creative projects, and simply being her naturally happy and supportive self to those around her.

Marian’s spirit was determined and her loving heart was strong, even when her aorta wanted to say differently. She fought hard through many complications in a brief but courageous struggle. Our beautiful, giving, unconditionally loving mother, daughter, wife, aunt, sister, niece, and friend will forever live in our hearts and through the bright sunshine in the sky. She always woke her children and grandchildren with a cheery “Sunshine!” Now the strong rays of sunshine fill our souls, and we know she is with us still.

Marian is survived by her adoring husband of over 50 years, Glenn; their two children, Kimberly Martin and Joshua Wray (Jeana); grandchildren Jayden Martin, Devon Martin, and Makenna “Kenna” Martin; her mother, Mary Rose Cordova; siblings Dana Cordova, Mike Cordova, and Lorelei Mitchell; nephew and nieces Johnny Cordova, Tammy Campos, and Jessica Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred Cordova, her oldest brother, Wilfred Cordova, Jr., and her beloved grandmother, Audilia Cordova.

A mass will be held on Wed., Apr 14, 2021, at 10:00am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, at 10355 Hanford Armona Rd., Hanford, CA 93230.
