Richard was preceded in death by his parents Manuel P. Simas and Aldine M. Simas of Lemoore, his sister Nadine Mendonca of Tulare, and his brothers-in-law John Mendonca, Leonard Vierra, and Roy Fernandes. Richard enjoyed dancing, especially at the Senior Dances. He loved to watch his wife Elaine sing during many special events. Richard looked forward to the Portuguese Celebrations at Pismo Beach and loved to meet up with friends at the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed being a Dairyman and Farmer always working hard throughout his life and his children really appreciate how he taught them the importance of working hard, together as a family. He also enjoyed joking, teasing and laughing while visiting with his family and friends. If he teased you, that meant he really loved you, especially if he gave you a nickname. Richard was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is loved so very much by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Until we meet again, we send all our love to him in heaven. The Visitation will be on Thursday, August 25th, at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church in Lemoore, from 5:00pm-6:30pm, followed by the Rosary at 6:30pm.
