Rosemarie De Mello was born on Saturday, September 19, 1942, in her grandmother’s house in Laton, California, with her aunt, uncle, and godparents eagerly awaiting her arrival. She was born at 11:45pm on her soon-to-be godfather’s birthday, Joe Dias. Rosemarie attended 4Cs College, Fresno City College, and began her professional career at Security First National Bank in 1961, and was married in 1963. Rosemarie was secretary to a vice president at the bank before leaving in 1971 to follow her husband’s career in law enforcement. Upon returning to Fresno, she was employed by various State of California agencies, including the Highway Patrol, Department of Forestry, and Caltrans, retiring in 2005. Rosemarie then traveled to the Azores Islands in 2007, and Alaska in 2010. She was also a contributing member of various social clubs including the Cabrillo Club #9 and C.P.D.E.S. of Easton.
